Apollo Health Street Adds new Senior VP and new Legal and
Compliance Counsel
Conshohocken, Penn. – Apollo Health Street, a developer of world-class solutions that tackle
healthcare’s toughest financial and IT challenges, announced today the addition of John G.
Murtha as the new senior vice president of payer services and Decanda M. Faulk, RN, Esq.,
CHC as legal counsel and compliance officer for the company.
A 20-plus year healthcare veteran, Murtha will be a key member of the company’s leadership
team, focusing his efforts on payer service sales and operations while expanding Apollo’s
presence in the payer market.
Murtha comes to Apollo with an extensive healthcare background, including his most recent
tenure as director of finance and management for the Greater New York Hospital Association.
He also served as executive director for healthcare distributor Thompson, Murphy, & Murtha
LLC as well as leadership roles with Vancerta Incorporated, JEK LLC, and Deloitte Consulting
where he led several turn around engagements and system implementations for the largest US
health plans in the industry.
Murtha attended Columbia University where he received a MBA in finance and entrepreneurship
as well as a MPH in effectiveness and outcomes research. He serves on the Board of Hunter
College in New York, NY where he received a B.A.
Faulk brings a unique background combining healthcare and health law. A practicing attorney
with a concentration in health law, she has worked for several of New Jersey’s premier law
firms. She also started her own firm, Faulk & Associates, to focus on healthcare compliance.
Before practicing law, Faulk worked for over ten years as a critical care nurse and in quality
assurance and utilization review.
She received a bachelor of science in nursing from Rutgers University College of Nursing,
Newark, New Jersey and her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers School of Law, Newark, New
Jersey. Faulk is licensed to practice law in the states of New Jersey and New York, and holds
an active professional license as a registered nurse and certification as a healthcare compliance
professional by the Health Care Compliance Association.
